The Goosebumps Run/Walk at Goose Island County Park is a fun, unique, and inspiring fundraiser hosted by the River City Running Club.

You can walk or run as little or as much as you like during the 6- or 24-hour time frame.

Whether you do one loop and relax, or push yourself to hit a half, full, or even ultra-marathon distance, the goal is entirely up to you! Some determined participants have logged over 100 miles during the full 24 hours. That’s what makes this event so special—it’s all about your personal challenge.

No same-day registration. Refunds are not available, but you can switch events up to 3 weeks before race day if space allows.  A waitlist will be published for each event once it is full.

About the Course

Held at Goose Island Park (W6488 County Road GI, Stoddard, WI 54658), the course is a scenic, wooded 2.8-mile* cross-country loop along the backwaters of the mighty Mississippi River. (*Distance may vary slightly depending on river water levels)

Aid Station

Designed for runners, walkers, and volunteers. It’s packed with tons of food and race fuel for our participants. Lots to carb load with and quench your thirst. We will have pizza, subs, grilled cheese sandwiches, soup, mashed potatoes, chips, M&M’s, cookies, bars, fruit, and electrolytes. Even a chef prepared breakfast!

Post Race Gathering

Immediately after the 6-hour event, please join us for a post-race meal, patch ceremony, and swag giveaway.  Family & friends who were there cheering you on are welcome to join in on the meal.  We’re blessed with the best sponsors to make this post-race gathering so fantastic!

Event Timelines

24 Hour tent setup – Friday, 10:00 AM

24 Hour packet pick-up – Friday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM

6 Hour packet pick-up – Saturday, 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Can I have someone pick up my packet?

Someone else may pick up your packet during the specified packet pick-up time for each event.

Where do I park?

There are volunteers who will direct you where to park. There are specific parking locations for each event.  Your vehicles are never far from the race course.

Can I bring my tow-behind camper and set it up in tent city?

Unfortunately, we cannot allow you to bring your tow-behind camper.  You are restricted to parking just your vehicle in the race area and 1 10×10 canopy tent that fits in front/behind your vehicle.  If you need a spot to park a camper, need more space, or plan to stay longer than the 24-hour event, Goose Island has camp sites available.

How do I cancel my registration?

If you are unable to attend, please go to Ultrasignup to cancel your registration.

Can I get a refund?

Because this is a fundraiser, refunds will not be given

What happens if we have bad weather?

The event happens rain or shine.  Race directors will determine if the race needs to be suspended for any reason.  The race clock will continue to run during a suspension.  In the event of a suspension, the aid station headquarters will have up-to-date information, and race directors will post on Facebook and send out email notifications. If the race is suspended, please remove yourself from the course & secure yourself in your tent, vehicle, or at the aid station.

What type of terrain is the course?

  • The standard course is a flat 2.8 miles, consisting of bumpy grass sections, a single-track wooded trail, and a gravel road.

Am I able to donate extra during or after the event?

  • Our event is 100% donation-based.  Oftentimes, participants are moved to provide additional donations after their experience at Goosebumps.  You can donate by selecting this link (click here).  If electronic isn’t your thing, you can still mail a check to us:  River City Running Club – Attention Goosebumps – 115 29th St. S. La Crosse, WI 54601.  Checks are to be made out to River City Running Club

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?

  • No. We have a waitlist for each event. If you know someone who wants to participate, please have them sign up for the waitlist.

How do I locate my accumulated miles?

  • You can view your prior race results on Google Sheets.  If you have any questions, please contact the race directors.
